Reasonable location, city centre only a short walk away.

Bed was far too samll to be called a double, more like a large single. It was obviously in there because the room was so small. No water at all from the hot tap in the bath.

Overall: 'Adequate' perfectly describes this hotel. I have stayed at better in the city. Nothing major to mention with the exception of the small bed size. I don't think I could have stood it for more than 1 night.  (108208673)

Very helpful and courteous staff. Room very clean, spacious and warm. Bathroom below standard expected but adequate for 2-night stay.

Water pressure on shower rather too forceful - would be unacceptable for elderly or children.

Overall: Good.  (107797484)

Overall: unfortunately our experience was quite comically bad. The first evening we were put in a narrow echoey room with ridiculously high ceilings and a filthy floor covered in clumps of hair. nice! The soundproofing left alot to be desired and at one point we even had a conversation about whether what we could hear was the roadworks outside or next door using the shower. It turned out to be next door. We also got neck ache trying to stop our heads getting blown off by the overly powerful shower. Needless to say we asked to be moved and were shown to one of their suites with a fantastic view of the castle, large leather couch and bathroom the size of my flat back home, complete with floor to ceiling mirrors, neon pick lighting and a massive jacuzzi. Unfortunately it seemed all the showers in the place were rigged to cause serious injury as the shower head blew off as soon as i turned the shower on, narrowly avoiding my head and a certain black eye. I couldn't be bothered to move again so we made the most of the jacuzzi and spent the rest of the time giggling at their porn palace interior styling.  (107958626)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
