No instructions were given on use of room card to activate the lift. The checking in staff were not competent of the use of the computer. No instructions were given or displayed on how it was necessary to lift the top off the cupboard to make the kettle work

The minibar was completely empty in the room, when we tried to get a soft drink there was nothing in the room.

Overall: The directions to the hotel that were provided were for driving. We needed to get to the hotel from the air port via public transportation. We spent over an hour and a half trying to figure out how to travel the less than two miles to the hotel. The Hoppahotel bus does not serve the Arora Park Hotel. By taxi we were quoted a 55 pounds minimum fare. Initiaslly, bus terminal information person said to take the 74, 75 or 76 bus. The bus driver said no, take bus 81. A different bus terminal information person correctly told us to take a free bus 105 (and two others I don't recall) from the terminal to Bath Road and transfer to bus 81. The free bus stop on Bath Road serves bus 81, but for the wrong direction. No one told us, but we finally figured that out and crossed the median to get bus 81 going in the correct direction. The bus 81 driver was very helpful. The fare was 2 pouns per person, and there is a bus stop just across the road from the Arora Park Hotel. If it had been night, I'm quite sure we would have given up, lost our deposit and checked into another, more accessible hotel. The hotel arranged a 10 pound taxi ride back to Heathrow. The hotel has a bar, but essentially no meal service. Across from the hotel is an excellent Italian restaurant - La Bettola. We stayed only one night, and based on that experience, all of the other guests we saw were BA flight crew members. (97121288)
