Very helpful staff who were willing and able to step in when I had to make changes to the booking numbers which the online system wouldn't cope with.
They also understood our needs for luggage storage on our final day to enable us to enjoy an extra day's skiing before returning home.
The online booking system gave a link to use for alterations to a booking but following this link cancelled the booking and would not allow re-booking. Dealing direct with the hotel sorted out this problem though.
The hotel (continental only) breakfast was poor value at 11 EUR pp but the room rate was low enough to compensate for that.
Overall: The hotel was an excellent base for a short skiing break being close to the main lift though the 'bar' closing at 6pm was a little surprising. Facilities were basic but adequate and excellent value for money and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The resort of Briancon has little charm unless you trek into the old town where we found excellent retaurants but the skiing facilities are good and the goldola takes you straight up to join the enormous Serre Chevalier region. It was easy to ski all day without using the same piste twice and choose to stick to blue runs or add in a few reds and the odd black. Queues were bad on the Friday but Saturday and Sunday were practically deserted and Monday only slightly busy, possibly a result of us hitting the tail end of the French February holiday season. Basic , comfortable , clean hotel , close to Telecabine for skiing
The continental breakfast was basic , self service in a rather gloomy basement dining room
Overall: This is a basic but clean and comfortable hotel , probably would rate approx. 2 star in most countries. Reception staff do not speak much English but were pleasant and friendly. Hotel is very well sited for skiing , is only a short 5 min. walk from Telecabine which brings you directly up the mountain.Skis can be left in the hotel. Brasserie attached to hotel is not great. The beautiful old town of Briancon is a bit of a hike up the hill, approx 15 mins walk but a short 10 taxi ride. (97649645)

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.
Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.
All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.
48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
