beautiful reception area, great breakfast and staff friendly enough

the first morning the showers didnt work, ended up having a very cold shower, the rooms were small and old looking, didn't think it was worth the money we paid. we had also asked for an iron on arrival and didnt recieve it till next morning

Overall: i have stayed in this hotel before with a friend and enjoyed my stay, thats why i came back but was very dissappointed in the rooms, the pictures online make it look good  (108259063)

Clean Room Comfortable Bed Good location

Misleading left luggage service

Overall: One of the main reasons my wife and I booked this hotel was due to it having a "left luggage service" mentioned online since we did not want to drag suitcases around while exploring London after we had checked out. However this "service" consists of just leaving your possesions in the hallway or dining room of the hotel. These are areas frequented by other guests and also easily accesible from the street via the back door that was left wide open. The staff were unhelpful and could not provide a locked room which I believe should be the minimum provided for a hotel to advertise that it has a left luggage facility. This resulted in us having to go out of our way and waste time taking our bags to the service at Victoria coach station. Apart from this the rooms were clean and comfortable given the hotel's age. However we would not stay here again due to the hassle that was caused by the luggage situation.  (108985618)

New bathroom suite.

Although I booked this hotel based on the picture on the internet, when I arrived it did not look anything like it. It is like an old B & B,with staff to match. To make matters worse they had over booked me, and without any form of apology they sent me on a 10 minute drive to another 'hotel', which again was like a very poor B & B. The room was old, dirty, boiling hot, and three flight of floors up, and the smallest parking space you could ever find. I would not recommend anyone to this hotel.

Overall: It was so bad it was funny!!!!!!  (107577660)

Good location; a short walk from Baker Street tube station and Oxford Street; friendly personnel

Poor attention to small but important details: knobs were missing in the wardrobe and in the chest of drowers; no lamp on the bedside table; the towel rack was broken

Overall: On the whole, my stay at this hotel was good  (107519451)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
