Simple and unostentatious service for normal money. All that is necessary for a normal life in hotel is. Especially pleases, that there is a kitchen and a refrigerator. It is possible for something to warm up. In bathing there is a bath, instead of a shower. It too is pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located at the main station of city. Beside all types of transport which are in city. The underground is convenient to go by suburban electric trains, the bus therefrom goes to the airport.

The kitchen is equipped poorly enough. For something to prepare hardly it will be possible. It is desirable to expand a set of utensils and knifes. As that hot water after 24.00 is disconnected is unpleasant. Especially it irritates, if in hotel come back late. Also it is bad, that not work the code lock, and there is no opportunity to contact the personnel in after working hours in this case. If someone from lodgers from within will close a door on the lock, to open it outside there is no opportunity, even having all room keys and knowing all codes

Overall: The good hotel, costing the money.  (99663250)

4.6 / 5 4.6 / 5 John [Chester, United Kingdom;GB] on 31/10/2005 (Mature couple)

Simple arrangement; storage; nice terrace; quiet, overlooking garden; convenient location.

Double was extended sofa bed that made the room crowded when opened out: but it was comfortable. Bathroom was spacious but a leaky sink tap showed a lack of maintenance. Shower was good but needed a bracket for the shower head.

Overall: This is very much a self-serve unit. The room was clean on arrival but there was not daily room service. Office closes as announced in advance so there are no staff in the evenings. The kitchenette was stocked with enough equipment to make breakfast and simple meals. The location is 50 metres from a regular bus and about 250 from the Garibaldi metro. It is about 1 Km from Part Dieu station; a hike pulling cases but the roads are level in this part of town.  (2317175)

4.7 / 5 4.7 / 5 Helen [Northampton, United Kingdom;GB] on 19/10/2005 (Family with older children)

It was well placed, it gave us the freedom to cater for ourselves or eat out, depending on which we chose. There was plenty of room for the three of us, overall just what we wanted. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a problem with the tap in the kitchen and there was no fuss, a plumber was called and it was rectified immediately. Nothing was too much trouble.

There were a couple of things short in the kitchen area, the tin opener was not very user friendly, no egg cups, had to ask for a corkscrew, a necessary item in France. I think an electric kettle would be a great help as we had to boil all our water in a saucepan. Other than that the kitchen was fine.

Overall: Overall I was happy with the accommodation and the position. Access to the rest of Lyon was good, ie close to public transport if required. I would happily book again and I was pleased with the price I got the room by booking on the internet.  (2758667)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
