The hotel is peaceful, with safe parking. The staff are friendly, even bubbly!
Although the rooms are over the bar, there is almost no noise upstairs.
The food is excellent and well priced.
My room was in the corner of the hotel next to a main A road and a side road, although traffic is light mainly farm vehicles it can be noisy with the windows open on a hot day. Traffic noise seems to die down after 10 PM, so there is no problem sleeping, and does not build up until after 7 AM.
Overall: I visited the Bickford arms twice last year and would recommend it to anyone as a base to explore the North Devon and Cornwall area. The only bad point would be if you are on a diet - forget the diet, the food is wonderful. (97419888)
