Dinner was nice.
The level of English spoken by the staff (very little) and it was dissatisfactory to have to wait until 8am (along with another couple) to check out on the Saturday morning.

Very run down bedroom including handle of door that fell off and curtain rail insecurely attached. Bathroom fine but no shower in mine

Overall: We had a wonderful overnight stay - this hotel was booked after viewing online and we were unfamiliar with Vervins and the area. Prior to booking I had seen the hotel's meals described as Nouvelle Cuisine so was a little hesitant about taking up the offer to eat there as we both have good appetites. However, we did and our two evening meals (one the steak dish, the other a pork dish) were the tastiest we've had in a long time and very filling.Beautifully presented too. The bedroom & bathroom were exquisite, the staff, facilities & dining room excellent. Only fault was that the bathplug didn't fit properly and I had to jump in quickly before all the water disappeared - hence the good rather than excellent for facilities! I did report it so hopefully it now fits! And we would definitely recommend the Chimay Blue beer! (99202082)

Good atmosphere romantic

Overall: We had previously enjoyed a 2 night champagne break, and had therefore returned. This time we booked a night at the special gourmand rate which includes a gourmet dinner only to discover that on Mondays there is only one standard menu (39euros),and, whilst the food was good, it did not rate gourmet, and we also had to remind the staff that a bottle of wine should have been included in the gourmand rate. Poor value for money when compared to the other hotels we stayed at .on this trip to France. (3304757565)
