The view of the Lake was beautiful.

The overall state of the both the bedroom and bathroom was appalling - it all needed to be ripped out and be completely refitted.

Overall: The website made me believe that the entire hotel had been refitted - however this was certainly not the case in the public areas nor our bedroom. Although a fair size the room was badly fitted with odd tables, no mirror, a TV perched high on an uneven and unpainted piece of wood (and no remote control) with the cable dangling from the ceiling and appalling orange net curtains. On the plus side it was a complete joy to have fresh sheets each day. The bidet in the bathroom had been replaced by a TV stand! The bath was completely worn out with a shower that worked even when it was not supposed to be. The night that the hotel was full there was insufficient hot water. On entering our room on the first night there was no bulb to light our way into the bedroom (having to go down a small corridor to get to it). This was soon righted by a maid the next morning. There were also no bulbs on the main corridor outside our bedroom. Storage space for clothes was excellent but only 3 odd metal hangers. The breakfast was very basic - a choice of fresh fruit would have been good, especially as it is so cheap around there. The orange juice was of very poor quality as were the jams but apparently the croissants were lovely and fresh. However, the whole room was full of cobwebs, dust and generally rather forlorn. They also had the irritating habit of putting on a dishwasher whilst you were eating. Outside of the hotel was not welcoming although with a few hours in the garden area it could have looked super. The whole place needed a really firm hand and then it could become a real gem because the views over the Lake are just fantastic. The staff were all helpful. Please be warned - there is no lift but there are ground floor bedrooms. It is a little way out of town but the walk is flat. A car to get around is really a must here to make the most of this stunning area.  (3304725755)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
