What an amazing hotel! The on-line photos did not do the hotel justice, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a gem of a hotel that is more of a castle or country lodge than a hotel. The staff were excellent, the bedroom was enormous, the hotel grounds were breath-takingly beautiful, just an amazing place that I will return to with my husband for a country retreat-treat. Can't wait to return.
No bad points - which for me is saying something.

Spacious, comfortable rooms with lovely views.
Had to request a duvet rather than sheets & blankets.
Overall: I booked online through recommended hotels. Unfortunately there was no record of our booking. Luckily, there were rooms available. The quoted price was GBP 210 per night & the room rates per the hotel brochure was GBP 200. We were still charged GBP 210. Other than this, we had a fantastic stay & will definitely be returning for a longer visit. The staff were pleasant, the public areas comfortable & beautifully decorated. We had a very pleasant walk on the estate grounds. (97235279)

Very impressive building and grounds. Excellent food and service.
Overall: Picked the hotel for an overnight stay with my wife. Very impressed with the experience and will return. Set in extensive grounds the hotel is in a quiet location and certainly is set to impress. Service was very friendly and efficient. As we were welcomed to the hotel we were introduced to the facilities whilst on route to our room. Food was really first class - although service was prompt - perhaps just slightly too prompt as my wife and I were in no hurry and content to take in the atmosphere. We were able to walk the grounds after breakfast and enjoy the peace and quiet. For history, charm, quiet and good food this hotel would be a good choice. (97522811)
