Food good, a little pretentious but good

Room was well appointed but very small. Also no air conditioning.
Overall: It was not easy to find being our first visit. Room was small but well furnished. It lacked air conditioning and was overbearingly hot for our stay. This somewhat spoilt the stay. Staying on a Friday into Saturday meant we got value from the overnight garage as we left the car there for most of the day. Not a lot of facilities but handy if you wanted to be walking distance to Clifton as we did (108729495)

Excellent staff, bar, restaurant and garden terrace
Room no.1 was too small and noisy. Bathroom was gloomy and tiny.

Lovely hotel in good position. Some staff good. Room good value and clean. Nice touch of fresh fruit and sherry in the room. Hot bath ran quicker than I had ever encountered before.
Dreadful check in. Untrained staff overwhelmed by just 3 people checking in.Time to check us in ( 10.30 at night) over half an hour altho prebooked.
Our meal on 2nd night, altho delicious, came at odd intervals. At no tme before the desert were we both served at the same time.
At breakfast on 2nd morning, we wewre ignored. Altho several tables were empty, none had been cleared. We sat at the cleanest for 5 minutes and were by-passed by the waitress without any acknowledgement, and finally left to eat at a nearby restaurant. Still npobody noticed, except that breakfast was charged on our bill. ( I had it removed)
Overall: Strangely, it was perfectly adequate apart from the above. It needs stronger management and a manager overseeing what goes on. Probably more staff required (107304086)

Very impressed by bowl of fruit in room
Unfortunately the weekend we visited the lift was out of action, not usually a problem but as I'm 8 months pregnant and we were on 3rd floor it wasn't great for us!
