Lovely setting although grounds appeared overgrown. Lots of character in the hotel building itself.
Food not available to us at 2.00pm on day of arrival. Room very small compared with friends who booked after us. Their room was much larger with a bath and yet cost £5 per night less than we paid. Television did not work on second day, bathroom light not working. Bed very uncomfortable.
Overall: Rates are very moderate so didn't expect too much. (107814953)

the only bad point was the shower was not very good
Overall: the room was lovely and had one of the most comfortable beds i have slept in. the staff were helpful, the breakfast good and a very relaxing atmosphere, shame the shower did not work very well but it was nice to have a bath (108604417)

Overall: We had a lovely stay. The grounds are beautiful, and the kids had a great time playing with the owners' Great Dane puppy and following the peacocks around. Our dinner was delicious, too. (107682956)

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
