Excellent location in the heart of the town, right near gardens and the castle. Parking directly outside although it is NOT part of the hotel, it's public parking, so you need to be lucky, otherwise just park a little further up the town. Breakfast very nice, staff helpful and polite.

The room was cold when we arrived, it appeared that the heating system was on a timer as it came on about two hours later. The decor can be described as "quaint". Magnolia walls with flowery borders. This is not a modern hotel. Breakfast is nice, but served in a restaurant about 30 yards away from the hotel, so you have to go outside and walk along the road. It's not a really bad thing...........just odd. Lastly, the cost. This hotel is fine and comfortable, but it is in no way worth £100 a night for a double room. In fact, just about everything in Dunster is expensive. Food, drink, shops are all nothing far short of a rip off. If you don't care about that, the place is very beautiful and a perfect country retreat.

Overall: A perfectly comfortable hotel in a great location in a lovely village. Way too expensive though.  (107358219)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
