Very pleasant. This is an old coaching inn, and therefore a bit old, but the facilities were still very good and of a modern standard. The room and facilities were of a high standard, and bathroom was quite spacious. Food was good and of a very high standard. Plenty of it.

Entrance to the room a bit tight with our luggage, but otherwise ok. A bit of warning about the toilet flushing noise (we think its a macerator) would have been helpful - we thought we'd broken it!

Overall: A pleasant stay, good food, good staff and well prepared and maintained. Lisa (the manager) was very friendly and helpful - even helped with luggage despite strained muscles in her neck (didn't notice that until we had dinner). We ate in the inn for dinner and breakfast and the meals were very good - dinner was great. The reviews about food in this place (we saw some in the AA guide) were correct! For a 17th century coaching in on a main road its quite good value and worth a visit.  (108349824)

Friendly helpful staff, comfortable room, excellent food.

Check in was disorganised. Nobody there until 5.30 pm

Overall: Most enjoyable, best I have found in the area.  (108454512)

The room altough smallish was bright, clean, quiet and had in-room coffee/tea/chocolate and cookies. The ensuite bathroom was clean and well stocked. Ther was ample off-street parking. The staff were very freindly and helpfull and breakfast was excellent. The pub itself was charming, comfortable and served real ale. The food evening menu was varied and included items at all price points including an excellent ham sandwich in granary bread. We also ate off the special (before 7PM) prix fixe menu and really enjoyed our meal.

Overall: Of the 5 bed and breakfast Inns we stayed at during our trip, this was by far our favorite.  (108651160)

Our room (& en suite bathroom) was beautifully clean, and well maintained. All of the staff were very friendly, and helpful when required. The food was fantastic, with special mention to the 'full English' breakfasts. This accomodation is well located for access to the Cotswold villages.

One slight inconvenience was that the room only had a bath, with no shower.

Overall: This accomodation is very well located, with convenient access to several Cotswold villages & towns. Burford, Bourton-on-the-water, Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh, and Stow-on-the-Wold are all within a short drive from here. Our room was beautifully clean, and perfectly adequate for our short stay. The quality of the food, both at breakfast and in the restaurant was excellent. A special mention must be made for the 'full English' breakfast, which is definitely one of the best! Overall, we were very happy with our stay here, and would have no hesitation in booking this accomodation again.  (108926162)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
