Small village pub with excellent food.

Rooms a little tired (paint cracking and curtain linings in shreds, carpet stained). Noisy in my room as it was directly over the bar. A little concerned when the breakfast waiter walked off with my credit card (will be checking my account).

Overall: Worth staying at for business/leisure.  (108549056)

The staff were friendly esp Michel the French speaking chap at breakfast. Really welcoming

My wife and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We stayed at the 'Gatehouse' overnight, and had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant. The breakfast experience was added to by a splendid waiter, who not only danced attention on us, but added a bit of entertainment as a bonus. Indeed, all staff we came into contact with behaved in a thoroughly professional manner. All in all, it was one of our better experiences, and we would certainly hope to stay here again the next time we drift into this area.

There really were no bad points. If I had to dig for some minor gripe, I would suggest that the evening meals were a tad on the expensive side - but then they were very good indeed.

Overall: One of the highlights of our recent holiday. Just the sort of little gem which suits my wife and I perfectly, and I am reluctant to shout too loudly about it, in case there is no room at the Inn the next time we drift by.  (108756849)

Lovely village pub with traditional decorated rooms which overlooked the church.

Overall: An enjoyable stay.  (108161538)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
