Staff very friendly food good

Very noisy in the front bedrooms

Overall: The stay was generally good but would not want to have a room at the front of the hotel in future  (108990552)

Pleased with the cleanliness and good food also staff seemed generally happy and polite. Parking was convenient, the bed was comfortable.

Cellar bar was not in use. Room was in a bad state of repair and had a stale smell. No ceiling light, no fridge and the toilet leaked all over the bathroom floor. When complaining about the toilet we never received an apology or compensation.

Overall: The room didn't match the decription on the internet and with the bad toilet leak ruined our stay.  (108939244)

Good location. Very friendly service. Hotel clean and attractive. Dinner good. Breakfast excellent with large number of alternatives to 'standard' menu. Shower excellent, but spoilt by shower curtain.

The bed was only double (we're used to king-sized), and rather soft so we felt as though we were going to roll off all the time. For me the quilt was too hot for the time of year. The worst thing was the flimsy shower curtain - what should have been a relaxing shower was spent fighting with clammy nylon. At least it should have weights at the bottom!

Overall: We had a very good first impression - nice location, pleasant hotel, friendly service. Good meal in restaurant that evening. We slept badly, had a not-very-relaxing shower but a very good breakfast. We might stay here again, but would ask for twin beds next time.  (108731668)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
