I would like to say, the head receptionist at the hotel was a very nice and helpful lady. When we first went to our room, i was disappointed to find it was a twin, however i did not complain. Later on in the evening my partner happened to mention this to the receptionist and she willingly changes us to a double room, which was absolutely beautiful and made our stay a great deal more comfy.

I am very sad to say, when my partner and i were having drinks in the reception area, due to parties being held at the hotel, my partner was made to feel extremly uncomfortable. He is a man of 58 and has tattoo's and also a smoker. When trying to purchase a drink, he was told by the duty manager, you are not allowes in the bar, we will get someone to come to you. This was fine, however when he was having a cigarette outside, he was told to move away from the front of the hotel, due to the other guests. We did not understand quite what the manager meant by this, but felt uncomfortable non the less.We let this go but when we came back from dinner, my partner ordered two brandies to take to our room, which was fine, except when he was walking through the hotel lobby, again the same duty manager asked my partner do you know where it is you are going ? my partner replied yes of course i do why ? manager replied well you seem to be lost and wandering round and we dont want you getting in the way of other guests. With this my partner was fuming and annoyed by this, feeling as though he was inadequate to stay at the hotel. If it was not so late we would of checked out and gone somewhere else. As it was we were staying there as i was visiting a very sick relative and didnt need the stress of it.

Overall: Hotel and Head Receptionist a complete joy and professional. However the young duty manager, we found to be very unprofessional and would put us off staying there again.  (108543859)

nice lady on reception. V helpful. Clean rooms.

no hot water in bathroom, very annoying! Ordered breakfast in our room for 6.15am but by 6.30 it hadn't arrived & we had to leave at 6.40 to go to work so had no breakfast even though I paid for it! very annoying!! Even more annoying was the fact no one could make a decision as to what they could do about the fact I was paying £110 for a room with no hot water & no breakfast!!!

The staff at the Reigate Manor were very pleasant, from receptionist through to restaurant. The evening meal was very good, an excellent steak, with more vegetables than I could cope with, service was excellent (although there were not many guests eating). The following day at a seminar (the reason for being there), the restaurant was full, and service was as efficient as the evening before. Room was clean, spacious and complete with trouser press, openable window was a bonus.

Overall: Difficult to fault.  (107899176)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
