Friendly staff and good breakfast

Dirty room and bathroom, you couldn't see through the windows and you couldn't open them properly for fresh air. The overall hygiene was bad.

Overall: It was a disappointing experience  (108802357)

2.3 / 5 2.3 / 5 Anonymous on 14/09/2009 (Mature couple)

Reception friendly

Room not very clean at all. Decor not good. En suite and wardrobe put in as an afterthought very amateurishly. An awful lot of bodging - sealant round shower dirty - sealant IN shower used to mend a crack. Etc etc.

Overall: Disappointing. location okay but cleanliness of the room let it down.  (108623043)

The hotel staff were very accomodating and nothing at reception was too much trouble.Rooms were clean and warm.It was also useful having a car park.

Breakfast times need to be re thought.Due to accomodating large coach parties the private guests were pushed into a corner and took second place for service, the breakfasts also were not hot when served. The hotel is also in need of redecoration throughout, looking rather worn.

Overall: As a hotel for stopping at when on your way to the port or tunnel you would find it hard to better this hotel for its price and cleanliness. The staff were polite no matter how busy they were.Bedrooms were adequate although the bathroom could be described as no bigger than a closet.  (107785511)

Overall: Good value for money. Nothing more; nothing less.  (108830742)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
