Tired and antiquated hotel. In need of a major makeover and/or love and attention

Helpful Receptionist.
No water from hot water tap in 1 room, room had to be changed. In new room towels had to be requested.
Another room so much smoke that clothes had to be changed. These people also had to request a heater as the room was so cold.
Filthy windows in all rooms.
Carpark resembled a tip and rear entry to hotel was blighted by smashed windows etc.
In restaurant sweet menu only one item available out of advertised eight. Our group were the only people eating otherwise the restaurant was deserted.
Breakfast - Had to ask for toast and butter. When jam and marmalade was requested only one small sachet of each was available for 6 people.
Overall: Overall even though we booked well in advance it would appear that we were not catered for. It would appear that we were the only overnight guests so it was not busy. (107886287)

Breakfast:Scrambled eggs with sausage.I had to soak up the water on the plate via 2x napkins!!!
Needs a facelft and cash injected into this listed building.
Overall: Not to be recommended.smell of rooms was not pleasant and shower curtains need to be changed. (107604529)

Room was comfortable, clean and had everything I needed. The service was friendly and the breakfast very good.
Unfortunately first impression was of car park which was surrounded by derelict buildings not owned by hotel, didn't feel comfortable leaving my car there, even though nothing happened to it. The buildings do not belong to the hotel so there is little they can do about it. Would have helped if had been provided with street name of car park, as SatNav took me to front door where couldn't park!

Room had no shower. Car park was full so had to park 10 minutes from hotel. Some of the staffs children stay in the hotel and the language one of them used in public areas was awful. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL
