Location. Open fires. Helpful staff. Pretty decent facilities for a small hotel (bar,restaurant,drying room)

Exceptionally nice breakfast.
Staff were very accommodating when I had to unexpectedly cut short my stay.
A lot of flies were buzzing around in my room and hotel reception, although none in the restaurant. This may be due to the time of year or location, rather than a fault of the hotel.
Hotel reception looked rather "tired".
Banisters needed re-varnishing.
