nice and friendly
breakfast could be better
Overall: had a good weekend (107872613)
The bed was comfortable, the gym and pool areas, particularly the jacuzzi were excellent. The quality of the food and choice at dinner and breakfast was very good.
The radiator was not turned on in the room; I did it myself. This was annoying as it was a cold day. The service in the dining room was poor. The waitresses displayed inadequate training and they were very tired at the end of a day serving wedding guests. We had to wait until after we had eaten our full breakfast before any coffee and toast arrived; this only after a reminder otherwise we would have gone without! The plug in the washbasin didn't do its job.
Overall: Could do better. (107889152)
I love the area, the hotel compliments the area and has good facilities. Would stop no where else. I enjoyed my beef wellington dinner from your restaurant also. But I would say there is too much food and over priced due to exessive amounts maybe?
Needs some attention to detail and maybe repairs.
Overall: Overall i love the Oaks Hotel. (107766044)

Overall: Very good, food was excellent. (107686206)
The Oaks is a hotel I have used for many years. I was a Travel Manager (in-house) for a large company in Burnley 1994-1997 and had to arrange accommodation for many influential and VIP status visitors. I had no hesitation in booking the hotel for personal use when my visiting friend and I had a catch-up "girlie-shopping" weekend!!! This hotel meets all kinds of visitor needs and the price is incredibly low for such a standard.
Whilst my friend was delighted with my choice of hotel (the Oaks is always impressive)we both made comment on the lack of cleanliness in the Bathroom. We have both come from Travel and Hospitality backgrounds and noted that the tiles surrounding the bath were happily displaying the remains of someone's shower gel. I would have to say, it has probably been there a while. Overall the cleanliness was good and the room was pleasant and comfortable.
Overall: Overall our stay achieved our aim of relaxation; accessibility; and good hospitality. We were not disappointed with the standard of greeting; service and the attentiveness of the very friendly and helpful staff. I felt I had pleased my friend with my choice. In summary: The Oaks caters for all kinds of guests be it weddings; family "dos"; parties; individual travellers and with it's easy access to the countryside; the tv advertised "Boundary Mill Store" in nearby Colne; Manchester; Leeds/Bradford etc it is ideally placed. Highly recommended. (107373214)

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.
Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.
All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.
48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
