Having stayed there previously in May we knew what to expect. It is very clean, the room and bed were spotless and the breakfast was first class too.
The hotel had mislaid the booking and they weren't expecting us. I had asked for a particular room but it was taken. It took more than 30 minutes to check in as the staff had to move people around to accomodate us. We ate dinner there also and when I asked for the bill they said they would put it on the account which they did but there was no break-down of costs merely a lump sum for food and drinks. There was a problem with two lights in the bedroom that went off when they warmed up and the TV didn't work properly. Channel 5 and the advertised radio channels didn't work. There was no one on the desk when we went to check out and we had to wait more than 10 minutes for someone to respond to our ringing of the counter bell.
Overall: It's a nice friendly hotel, convenient for my occasional needs and clean with a good bar and good food. It's only spoiled by the fact it appears to be run almost single handedly by a very nice lady who at the end of the day can't do everything !!!! I did notice a vacancy for an assistant manager on their website so it might get better :-) (108538869)

Decor a bit tired and carpets worn. Often difficulty raiseing a member of staff at reception.
