Lovely room. Dog genuinely welcome. Great to be able to access garden from room.

We had dinner at the hotel and were shown to a table. The cloth was dirty, and debris( crumbs) from previous occupants had not been swept away rpior to re setting. We asked to be moved and explained why indicating dirty marks, spilled food and debris. We were moved. The table remained uncleaned. Another couple were placed there. they noticed the state of the table but felt unable to ask for it to be cleaned as they felt making a fuss wouldn;t be acceptable. It is a shame this was the case asthe quality of the food was excellent and the young waitresses very polite. Breakfast was haphazard, poorly co-ordinated and three couples were shown to the same table one after another !!!! confusion reigned supreme.

Overall: We would stay here again for convenience but would not eat dinner here!  (108838442)

Wonderful position with views of the cathedral. Very much enjoyed being able to sit in the garden

Rooms clean, but "tired". Although room was a good size the corridors were very cramped and the stairs (Back stairs but only access we were made aware of)were shabby. Food very expensive for the quality and service casual

Overall: Hotel with a lot of potential, particularly with the view over the cathedral, but in need of an update.  (108766947)

Plenty of parking, friendly helpful staff, nice breakfast

Dinner was interesting. Main course was (chicken) good, starters was very bad. Dried out sad pate. The bed was comfy but very noisy.

The breakfast and wait staff were excellent. Also, the grounds and general location are very nice and charming.

The bathroom was dirty - including urine stains, mold, and hair in the shower/bathtub. I couldn't believe it. (Room number 7 on the ground floor). The bed was also very old and uncomfortable - my husband and I are small people and we still sank to the middle of the bed.

Overall: Had the bathroom not been disgusting, I would have had a pretty positive review, but due to lack of cleanliness, I would not stay here again.  (107700162)

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
