Hotel was lovely & clean & the room was also clean tidy.

Breakfast was very small amounts, plate wasn't hot to keep food warm & the staff were slow in asking if you wanted more tea/coffee toast etc. The receptionist told me my room was ready & when I walked in, the room hadn't been cleaned at all so had to go out for hour to let cleaners to their job. The reception wasn't staffed proplerly & were hiding in the back somewhere so had to wait & make a noise to be heard & when we dropped the keys off the next morning when we were leaving, the reception staff didn't say a word so not very friendly receptionist at all & considering they are the first point of contact, I felt that was very bad practice.

Overall: Hotel was lovely & clean but their reception staff need to be trained in how to be polite & friendly to customers.  (108845837)

Excellent location for the town centre. Very impressive Bistro with superb food and service.Lovely atmosphere, car parking and staff. Felt very at home and comfortable.

The shower was old and tired, difficult to get correct tempreture. The toilet (not sure if cistern or macerator)leaked. Exceptionally noisey due to disco in town centre on saturday night, perhaps a review of double glazing and insultaion to walls might help.

Overall: Would certainly return, but not for a saturday night due to noise as it was a really good hotel for the price.  (107914322)

Central location, with good public transport links

Extremely loud bar 30 feet across street open until 1am. Single glazed window in room did nothing in the way of soundproofing.

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
