Brekfast was very good in the morning.

Room was very hot. TV did not work but then they fixed it. No Parking facilities. No lift.

Overall: Not good. We turned up to find there was no parking except on the high street from 6pm-10am or you could park in the long stay car park a 5 min walk away from hotel. Not good when you have lots of stuff with a five month old baby. Arrived in room to find we were on the second floor with no lift. Also the Travel cot was not set up. We asked to be moved but they only had a room on the first floor available. The room was very hot and other guests said the same. The TV did not work but they fixed it.  (107113835)

Comfortable, swishy surroundings and pleasant grounds made the Stanwell a lovely place to stay. Staff were pleasant and attentive.

Accommodation was very pleasant, however the restaurant was very disappointing and certainly overpriced. The menu promised quite a lot, particularly seafood, but I found my meal (haddock) overcooked, dry and blandly flavoured. At £20 a plate it was a real let down and I would not be able to recommend it in all conscience.

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
