Great food, friendly staff.

Decor and fixtures need an update by someone with an eye for design.

Overall: The restaurant is great and even the bar meals are worthy of a mention, all the staff are friendly and helpful. BUT it really needs a lick of paint and someone with an eye for design to rejuvenate the current mish-mash of themes. Our room (Kilnsea) desperately needed a new bed and carpet as well as some furniture from this decade.  (107318201)

Great location, nice hotel.

When we were checking in, a previous customer was complaining about being over charged. The hotel agreed and refunded him. The also over charged me for drinks. It appears to be a systematic problem as the staff did not over appologise, it seemed to be a regular complaint.

Overall: Nice hotel but check in/out staff seemed to resent us needing her service.  (107331479)

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Relaxed atmosphere. I loved the decor - bright, modern, unchintzy, bold colour schemes, abstract art. The food was superb, service was excellent; all very unstuffy and unpretentious. Views were stunning. We'd booked a double room, but were actually given a junior suite with more amazing views! Very comfortable bed.

Overall: We had a great overnight stay. It's a gem of a small hotel.  (107966626)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
