Prompt efficent and helpful staff, clean foyer and entrance, room small but contained all that we needed. Shelf in wardrobe not secured and fell down on us as we reached for extra pillows.
Blond long Hair in the beans at breakfast did not help our view of the food.
Apart from that the dining was excellent, would have helped to have had a pot of coffee rather than having to wait for waitress to enter the room to get another cup.
Overall: We had a very pleasent overnight stay and would come back if in the area. (108375984)

The hotel was in the middle of three roads which make for traffic noise. I would have expected double glazing but there was nothing and it was very noisy.

The hotel staff were helpful, polite, efficient and did everything they could to make our stay happy and enjoyable.
The food in the restaurant was reasonably priced, the portions were very acceptable and the food was good as well.
The hotel was clean, the towels were large and very fluffy.
The hotel has a 12 car car parking facility.
Because of the new switch over to digital tv happening in the area in the next few months, they were having difficulties with their tv reception. However although our tv did not work the first night, we were given the chance to either change rooms or to make use of another room to watch tv in if we didn't want to change rooms. The problem was sorted by the end of that first day and we did not have any further issues with it.
Because the building is a listed building the rooms are on various levels and some of the stairs are quite steep and perhaps not so suitable for people who are not able to get around that easily.
Because of its location in the centre of town, it has almost no outside space - only a tiny courtyard area used mainly for smoking purposes.
Overall: We would definitely stay in this hotel again. Although we did not find much of interest in St Austell itself, it was an excellent place to use as a base, especially as it is only a few minutes walk from both the bus and train station. (107347609)
