cheap but perfect for just a cheap-sleep. Excellent location!

Tiny duvet, slight smell of fungi in room, very slow staff who spoke very poor English. But all was fine in the end and staff remained very friendly. Beer is extraordinarily expensive (London prices for Tenants)so BYO!

Overall: very pleasant-excellent entertainment (father and daughter-band)  (108919580)

Good value. £10 evening buffet well worth price. Basic hotel - you get what you pay for, and my dog was welcome!

Shower terrible. my husband used the sink whilst I was in the shower and the shower water ran cold! Also the basin at the bottom of it kept overflowing. 80 pence for a standard bag of crisps.

Overall: 3 star hotel with 5 star prices. Advise you to take snacks..  (107618643)

Nice location - good for relaxing.

Hotel is dated, needs revamped. Staff need training in customer relations. Could not put drinks on to bill - had to pay when ordered.

location

very run down accomodation.areas of the hotels unheated.listed as dinner, bed and breakfast but we were given a printed sheet containing 3 choices of meals on arrival at hotel which i thought was a bit shabby.

Overall: very disappointed.this is the second time that we have stayed at this hotel which seems to have changed ownership.Staff were without exception non British and seemed to be inexperienced, dinner menu was bizarre-starters were either soup, platter of cold meats or fish cakes.  (107505826)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
