Excellent service, nice big room, good facilities.

Struggling to find bad points but I guess creaky floor-boards would be the only one.

Overall: Highly recommended and excellent value for money.  (108805117)

Very pleasant light and airy room and large bathroom, furnishings and bathroom fittings appeared to have been recently refurbished. Excellant breakfast and friendly staff

Adjacent bathroom fans in other rooms were intrusive during the course of the night as was traffic noise - no double glazing. Water pressure in the bathroom temporarily reduced to zero at peak periods.

Overall: Very pleasant, we didn't have an evening meal so we are unable to comment on the food. Definitely stay again.  (107473699)

Very welcoming and polite staff. Great location and well designed/decorated room

Thin walls, meaning I could hear tvs in rooms either side

Overall: Very good. Would recommend it.  (108152606)

3.9 / 5 3.9 / 5 Michael [Croydon, GB] on 25/08/2009 (Mature couple)

Good location near harbour. Excellent breakfast with delicious haddock or smoked salmon and scrambled egg options. I prefer their fresh tinned grapefruit to staler fruit selections I've had at large expensive hotels! Convenient restaurant downstairs and others nearby.

One room was large and lovely but had noise from air-con units outside. Another was quiet but rather small. Very rocky (uneven) car-park!

Overall: Pleasant, relaxing place to stay. No problems with bar noise while we were there.  (108940823)

The hotel was a very nice small hotel, first class food at a very good price. It is in a very good location

Overall: A very nice break - visiting the Eden Project  (107942331)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
