Pleasant, helpful staff. Large comfortable room and bathroom, pleasant public roooms. Quiet, peaceful location. Very good value for money.

Unfortuantely the shower cubicle in theen-suite bathroom leaked and soaked the bathroom floor and part of the bedroom carpet. We were offerred an alternative room, however we chose to stay as first room was superior to alternative apart from the leaky shower! We had a lovely bath too! No other bad points.

It was obvious that the hotel is trying to promote an image of prestige and they were trying to spruce up the aesthetics

Cramped and a bit inconvenient.

Overall: I saw a couple of doors open and the rooms looked very nice, but my room itself was very small and cramped. The toilet had a pocket door which did not work, and the toilet was right next to the window, which made it awkward as I had to pull the shade everytime I needed to use the facilities. The carpet was torn. There was little shelf space and everything was cramped, with the exception of the wardrobe which was large but had only three clothes hangers. No general convenience items like hairdryer. The dining area and the area that they turned into a bar on the second floor were quite nice. I think there are better deals for the money, but I was limited in my choices over a bank holiday weekend. Also, no reception person was there when I checked out on a Sunday, and I waited 20 minutes. I tried to call the main number from my mobile to no answer, and even tried ringing the outside entrance bell but no one came. I eventually just let myself into the area where the reception was and left my keys on the counter. Hopefully I am checked out with no extra charges!  (97573645)
