Breakfast is good

I can hear the sound of foot step overnight no internet service in the room

Overall: It is quite near to underground and train station but the draw back is you can hear the foot step in your room during the night.  (108184577)

Very well located, Sussex gardens are very convenient to do shopping and leisure, very close to hyde park and Paddington station is just a block from it. The Breakfast is very nice and the staff is very helpful and friendly. very clean and confy.

the room was very small but enough for a light traveller. No working table. No wi-fi in the rooms or even in the common areas. just a cable where we could plug the computor.

Overall: wonderful stay, I felt at home.  (108115339)

Newly refurbished, so everything was clean and new. The hotel appeared better than the average budget hotel (the soft furnishings, the table settings in the breakfast room, etc.).Very good location and price.

I had a double room, but it would have been too small for two suitcases. Perfectly all right for one person. It overlooked Sussex Gardens, a very busy street, and the noise might have been too much for a light sleeper. The breakfast wasn't very interesting - poor choice of cereals, and the addition of tomatoes or mushrooms would have been nice. And why not jars of different types of jam rather than a limited range of little plastic containers? And the other part of the hotel wasn't as smart as the part I was in (though a lift is being installed, so there's obviously more work being done).

Overall: Good on the whole - see details above. Friendly, helpful staff, very handy to Paddington, comfortable room.  (107412533)

Staff attitude is excellent. They would do wonders in a proper hotel!

no lift, tiny rooms, no air conditioning - the heat was unbearable on the 4th floor - window could not be opened but a few inches

Overall: I would not recomend this hotel if you have to stay for more than one night, but believe me it has the best staff ever met in a hotel even better than in a 5* hotel  (107715583)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
