Excellent food, very helpful staff

Upon arrival my booking had not been recieved by the hotel who were unaware of the company B&B.co.uk, luckily they had a room available.

I booked 2 rooms. My room was ready on arrival. The second room was not but that was not a problem as both lots of luggage were put into my room. My son and his girlfriend registered at the hotel before going to the wedding but could not get the key immediately. That was also not a problem as we were going to be out until quite late in the evening and the key would be available on return.

On returning to the hotel late in the evening my son was told by the staff on reception that he could not have the room that he was originally going to have as it had already been allocated to somebody else, he was given an alternative which he was not very happy about but accepted it. When he went to his room he was not impressed. The room looked as though it had only been cleaned in part. The main bed was ok but the sofa bed was in a very untidy condition. The TV was not working either. He returned to reception and made it known he was far from happy. The next morning he was given a discount on the room rate. It is such a shame the situation happened. He was only in England for the weekend for a wedding in Margate and he did not get a very good impression. We did not find the night staff on reception very helpful at all.

Overall: Our room was fine and the daytime staff on reception could not be more helpful. It was a shame the night staff were not the same.  (108589508)
