Overall: OK  (108420081)

3.7 / 5 3.7 / 5 [Dumbonald, GB] on 01/09/2009 (Mature couple)

Hotel location is very convenient to town, train and bus services. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The Hotel and facilities were generally clean. The evening meals were good quality.

The room which was described as standard was more substandard in terms of size especially the "en suite bathroom and toilet". this proved particularly cramped for me with arthritis. Breakfast was very poor value £7.00 for cereal and tea which we used only once on the first morning of our stay.

Overall: Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and with the exception of the above bad points the hotel was very adequate.  (107406949)

Excellent location

1.Parking is restricted and dependent on other hotel residents. You cannot take out your car easily without others having to move theirs...in some of the parking spots, that too @5 quids/night. 2.They said that they would accommodate 1 child per room and provide cots. In practice they didn't entertain that and we ended up in such a small room that there was no room for baggages. The bed was also just a reguar double bed and hard to sleep if you have a family with kid.

Overall: Bad - not worth the spend.  (107506699)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
