Staff very friendly, made to feel very welcome

First room was close to the water system, dripping water all night. Moved to another room with no fuss or bother.

Excellant variety of food and well presented.

Due to my late email booking of the room (3hours before arrival) the staff were not aware of my plannned arrival, therefore it would have been possible for the room to have been taken by another person before my actual arrival. Again, due to the late booking the central heating in the cottage had not been turned on prior to my arrival and it took three requests before this was attended too.

Overall: I would certainly visit the hotel again.  (108823470)

All staff extremely helpful and polite and the meals and service were excelent. Much better in fact than the last Hilton I stayed at.

Nice breakfast selection. Wetherspoons within easy walking distance. Yippee!

Our ATTIC room had no views. After all it IS called Castle VIEW Hotel! Stairs and firedoors incredible difficult. NOT a place for the elderly or disabled to stay! No car park! Manager could be heard using the 'F' word on the phone from the breakfast room! Never had our towels changed.

Overall: It was really a B&B type place, but Hotel prices!  (108798667)

A very nice hotel with a friendly atmosphere. We didn't eat at the hotel other than breakfast but the menu looked interesting

We got back to the hotel at just before midnight and would have enjoyed a night-cap but the bar was closed and the area roped off.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
