Check in. General good state of the hotel

During a busy period approx 7:00pm it was difficult to get a drink at the bar because people were checking in. Also it would have been helpfull to have some advise on restaurants because there was no meals available at the hotel. Directions to the hotel car park not very clear

the booking on the internet was ffine but we wern't told that the money would not be taken from the bank and that we had to pay at the hotel it was booked as a gift for us, when we went to check in at the hotel we were told that the card had declined and that we would have to pay they took our bags and said come back tonight for your rooom but you will have to pay the £50 , it was only the next day when we checked out that onother member of staff explained to us that they take the card for security purpose oinly and you pay on check out , the man who was there when we went to check in didnt say this i just kept saying that the person who booked it there card was declined and they would have to pay for it again it was my mother and he spoke to her on the phone saying her card had decllined and could she pay again over the phone it was at our wedding and this was quite distressing for us and my mum.

Good value. Especially with option of a 3rd adult in 1 room instead of having to book 2 rooms.

Our room was on the main road side of the hotel and on the Saturday night the noise was horrendous. Loud music, shouting and traffic until about 5am. Having to pay for parking.

Overall: Overall was pleased. The room and hotel generally was very clean and the facilities were more than adequate for a short stay. Free parking for hotel users would be nice.  (108480055)

Room was nicely presented and very clean. Bathroom sparkled and the shower was wonderful. Good range of food on the breakfast buffet. The housekeeping staff were friendly and smiley.

Room was quite small for 2 adults and 2 children - especially with the sofa bed out. No plug socket within range of the mirror for hair straighteners! Could rearrange the position of things on the breakfast buffet so that things were more accessable. We couldnt get close to the toasting machine in the corner and everyone else who was queing to use it blocked the access to everything! The monday morning reception steff seemed stressed and were not very friendly.

Overall: Lovely clean comfortable hotel in an excellent position for shops and restraunts.  (108196605)
