Excellent accomodation. Excellent food Excellent service Very friendly and welcoming

Only one niggly complaint! The towels are not at all absorbant which made drying after a shower a bit of a trial.

Overall: We will be staying there again and will be recommending the hotel to our friends.  (108153688)

The staff were freindly. The bedding and bathroom were clean, but the room although large had peeling wallpaper and dirty carpet and was in dire need of refurbishing. Breakfast and the food in the bar were Ok.

The room although large had peeling wallpaper and dirty carpet and was in dire need of refurbishing. In fact the whole place was in need of a facelift. Breakfast service left a lot to be desired - like serving luke warm tea and a pot of coffe for one to two people!

Overall: The stay was Ok, but way overpriced given the condition of the establishment.  (108561734)

Friendly Staff Lovely Location

Expensive food for evening meal. Hotel closed between 3.00pm and 6.30 pm on Saturdays so unable to check in as early as we would have liked.

Overall: Fine for an overnight stop but would not have stayed longer with children (9 and 11)as their beds were only camp beds and evening menu was too fancy and expensive for them. Happy to go back without them though!  (108718770)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
