Excellent location, free wifi.

TV awful, 5 channels, two of them fuzzy. Get Freeview.

Overall: Perfect location for where I was working, two locations I could reach on foot or from Baker St tube. Free wifi was excellent. Made up for TV which was awful, only 5 channels and 2 of those fuzzy. Get Freeview asap for more happy customers. Breakfast good, room small but fine.  (108377883)

Clean and well-equipped room, helpful staff, good location with plenty of restaurants etc locally, no traffic etc noise.

Nothing really - I had a small double room which was fine for one person but could have been cramped for two. There doesn't seem to be much sound insulation between the rooms although it wasn't a problem on the night.

Overall: Very comfortable one-night stay.  (108353950)

Regency hotel is in a fantastic location, staff very polite and the room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast also extremely good with lots of choice from a fry up to cereals and fruit.

Shower not very powerful but still ok

Overall: Fantastic, would definitly come back to the Regency next time I'm in London.  (107443796)

The good points: The location and its price. The location is truly ideal and safe. The price beats the competition but you are getting extra budget accomodations...If you are looking for a great location, cheap, and clean and do not mind small rooms, this is perfect! As guests, we were a bit embarassed to call our friends in the area to meet us because the hotel really looks extra, extra budget when you see the lobby but the rooms were well-eqipped, clean and serviced.

The lobby makes you want to run away as your first impression. This hotel is being marketed as a restored Victorian Mansion! The lobby could surely reflect a bit more than a 'hostel' and bare environment. There are no tables, no water, no magazines, no plants-just older sofas and a portable CD player in the window sill. Also, visible screws keeping artwork up lets one think that there is high crime. Try to fix the pictures to the wall with invisible ways. Add some flowers, a table, soft music...make the place be somewhere you want to come back to! Our fire alarm went off once for no reason...now, when you are in a very small room, in an old hotel, on the top floor and the alarm goes off for no reason, I would prefer the front desk to call ME than to wait for me to: be afraid, wait nervously, not hear anything from the front desk, and then decide to call them to ask if there is a fire or what is happening! No one welcomed us to the breakfast room...we were told where it was and at what time it was..and then when we went, we entered and were waiting for someone to greet us or tell us how it all worked...we did not even have a menù until we saw another guest pick one up near the telephone there. Then we had a look and someone came to our table...it was awkward. In the morning, when you are waking up, awkward is not a good feeling.

Overall: We were happy with the location. We felt maybe a little disappointed in the room. For a Victorian Mansion, we were hoping for a bathtub in our room and a much more romantic feel for the hotel. The room was well-equipped and everything worked. It was nice because the all linens and the towels were clean and white. We had an electric kettle and coffee, tea, sugar, creamers, and even an iron and ironing board (there was no bottled water in the room). For two people with even minimal luggage, it is a small room. When you have to move one thing to get to another, the room is small. When in bed, I had to climb over my husband to go to the bathroom because on my side of the bed there was the wall. The breakfast was good. I could suggest some nice, light music in the breakfast room instead of a tv. If a guest wants to watch tv, they can go to their room.  (108228057)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
