A very friendly charming hotel, with a homely feel. Even though the heating was not on, our room was very warm.

Unforunatley, in the morning we noticed that we had no hot running water in the bathroom.

Good surroundings, lake, and grounds although not much of them. Breakfast was good.

Not told of wedding when I was due to stay. Had to find the room ourselves. No toilet brush in bathroom, no clock in room, no menu to look at for evening dinner to see if we wanted to eat in. No brochures for surrounding area to look at, did not find it a relaxing overnight stay wedding took over.

Overall: This was supposed to be a discounted standard double room which we paid £80 for, very poor standards for this sort of money very overpriced.  (108410917)

The main part of the hotel was nice, great location, and food was good.

There is no clearly defined Reception area, we had to find a young chap working behind the bar to help us check in.The hotel room was appalling I dont think it had ever been cleaned. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and certainly not worth £80.

Overall: I liked the location and the actual look of the hotel was good, but the rooms were disgusting and I would never stay there again.  (108419568)

great location, lovely building. room size good. comfy clean bed, sturdy construction!. Lovely exposed beams everywhere. food lovely. excellent breakfast - all with local produce.

taps didnt turn off properly. room was boiling even though radiator valve was set to minimum. Motor assisted bathroom water system noisy. Music from bar downstairs and TVs in adjacent rooms seemed loud until around 1:30am on a sunday morning... luckily that didnt matter ;) food took ages to arrive: we booked for 8:30, got seated at 9:15 and it wasn't even packed, ate at about 9:45 onwards. Quality is spot on though!

Overall: great location, very tranquil. Lovely water featuring active viewing stations inside the building. staff are great. all seem to love what they do. We would stay again, it was lovely overall. Great building. Peaceful. Nice grounds and river.  (107945380)
