Lovely location. Guest house has character. Rooms were quite spacious with en-suit shower, toilet etc. Breakfast was good. Couple who run this guest house were freindly and hospitable.

Breakfast is served at 9am, which is quite late if guests are keen to go out and about early. We did arrange to have an earlier breakfast on the days that we needed to be at a convention in St Helier at around 9am, but sensed that this was an inconvenience.

Overall: Apart from the late breakfast time, this was a lovely place to stay. I would recommend it as good value for the price paid.  (107926247)

Very Friendly Owners. Beautiful Location. Very Pretty Rooms and guest house. We had a sea view from our bedroom. Pretty dining room and good selection for a continental breakfast, at a very respectable 9am (or earlier if you wish). Very Clean throughout. There is parking available opposite the guest house. There is a swimming pool which would be lovely in summer.

No sink in toilet/shower ensuite, therefore you had to wash your hands after visiting the toilet by using the sink in the bedroom. Unfortunately they had trouble with the ultra violet water filtration system when we were there so we couldn't drink the water from the taps. However they did leave us bottled water each day to make a drink.

Overall: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Undercliffe Guest House. It is a very pretty looking building with unusual corridors and doorways. The reception is just marked out by a niche in the entrance corridor, where there is a bell to ring for attention. The owners live upstairs and always came immediately when we rang. They were very accomodating and helpful. We were delighted with the location, situated on the quiet side of the Island, which is just what we wanted. We had a beautiful view of the sea from our bedroom which also overlooked a well tended garden and swimming pool just out of sight below. Our room was cleaned every day, the double bed was very comfortable and the room was warm and cosy, which was necessary being December! We had a tv in the room and ample tea and coffee making facilities replenished every day. The only bad point of the room (and this is nitpicking) is the fact that there is no sink in the toilet ensuite, just a shower, therefore you have to vacate the loo and walk across the bedroom to wash your hands etc in the sink. This however, may just be our room as we didn't see any of the other bedrooms. But we were more than happy to stay in this pretty little room. We were very pleased with the discounted rate for staying in the winter season, and the good selection of continental breakfast (including Jersey yogurt YUM!)taken in the quiet dining room gave us a chance to chat with the owner and made us feel 'at home'. The guest house also has a quiet lounge which is well stocked with 'out and about' and 'what to do during your stay' leaflets. There is also a pay phone in the lounge, which came in handy for us. The Undercliffe is situated on a steep winding hill, which leads down to the bay. There are cliff walks starting from the Undercliffe which promised to have spectacular views, although we can't vouch for this as we didn't have enough time during our stay to explore. It is important to remember that it is a 4star guest house as it actually feels like a hotel and should not be compared to the 4 star hotel rating. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this quaint guest house to any of our friends, and look forward to visiting again ourselves one day!  (107139125)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
