The food was very tasty, and good value for the quality. The bar / lounge area was homely and comfortable.
The weather was unusually warm, and the whole place was stuffy - you need to open more doors and windows. The bed was too springy, and 'bounced' each time my husbsand rolled over!
Overall: Despite these minor faults, we had a good stay at the hotel, and found it good value for money. Thanks. (108385953)

The food was first class, both dinner and breakfast, with a great 'local and seasonal' theme. Service friendly and efficient.
Loved their green outlook and the binoculars on the windowsills overlooking the bird feeders, and also appreciated views of the chef nipping out to gather herbs in the veggie garden.
Inside, we thought the decor was very disappointing indeed – we were expecting an old-fashioned inn with accommodation but found it to be bland, generic and bereft of atmosphere. Clean and tidy, all mod cons etc etc, but no character. The bar nodded in the right direction, but everywhere else got our thumbs down.
Our bedroom door was at reception and we could clearly hear all the comings and goings so didn't feel private, and our bedroom window looked out at eye level onto the tarmac of the carpark with steps down to the back door looking straight into our room.
Overall: Loved the food and the seasonal and local emphasis of the menu. Extremely disappointed with our room, and the bland decor and feel of the place – somehow at odds with their 'green' credentials. (108838445)

Overall: This is an excellent hotel with friendly staff. The quiet location and excellent surroundings added to the enjoyment of our stay. The selection and quality of the food is good. The hotel's efforts to be environmentally friendly are admirable and a pleasant contrast to other hotels. (108130551)
