Guest Reviews

4.6 / 5 4.6 / 5 David [High Peak, GB] on 27/09/2009 (Solo leisure traveller)

Friendly, helpful, welcoming. Made me feel "at home". Because it was also a small cafe, the availablity of food and drinks was extremely useful. There was also a private car park.

The car park had a sloping, loose gravel surface, and to a motorcycle rider this proved a little problematical. However, the proprietors recognised the difficulty and had made certain provisions to assist. Not realy a "bad" point - more an observation.

Overall: Relaxing and comfortable - a good choice of guest house.  (108768591)

5.0 / 5 5.0 / 5 Marina [london, GB] on 13/08/2009 (Same sex couple)

Visitors were my husband and adult son, who fit into the "other" category. Sky TV in the lounge much appreciated by elderly hubby, as he could watch his all important cricket! Rooms with everything one needed. Lovely unusual "breakfast area". very friendly welcome on arrival. Nothing too much trouble.

Overall: We are all experienced travellers, my sons & I both home abroad and ALWAYS NOTICE EVERYTHING, so that we can recommend/discourage friends, both UK and foreign. This is a definite PLUS and has gone on our listing.  (108964377)

The owners were very cordial, accomodating, professional and welcoming. The breakfast was extraordinarily delicious and ample.

Room was very small.

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
