Location .Hotel gardens.Swimming Pool .Relaxed atmosphere.Restaurant.
Dress code in restaurant.Why? Fortunately,application ignored by the staff.

Everything was good about this hotel. Cleanliness, Facilities, Breakfast, Room and Staff. It is difficult to find fault although we didn't have an evening meal here so I can't comment on that.
Overall: Ideal place to stay if, like we were, you are touring around this area. I would definately stay here again if in the area and would have no problems recommending it. (108911553)

The hotel is very understated and so it is only when you take time to look at the quality of the workmanship in the fixtutes and fittings that you realise how much work has gone into restoring the building.
We went into Alnwick in the evening and so missed the meal in the hotel but the breakfast was first class.
Use a map rather than a GPS to find the hotel. It is only a couple of miles off the A1, but entering the post code in TOM TOM left us sat in a country lane.
Overall: The swimming pool is bigger than it looks in the brochure. Nice rooms, good food and pleasant staff. The owner Brian Burnie is a modern day saint - look him up on Google. (108664561)
