This place is in a convenient spot within easy reach of the A14 (about 5 minutes away) and right in the middle of Rothwell, so all of the shops and local facilities are within walking distance.

Overall: All of the staff were friendly and helpfull (especially the barmaid) and the beer was excellent.  (108365495)

Friendly and efficient people.. A great place to stay.

Overall: I was in and out a some unusual times of the day, but the staff were more than happy to work around this. Thankyou.  (108423365)

Generally OK in most respects. Friendly and helpful enough when we spoke. Nice enough room.

Breakfast poor. I expect full english breakfast etc in B&B. Not a few packets of cereal and a few slices of bread and butter without even anything to put on it- at least a bit of jam would be nice! Checking in was hasty- too busy running a pub downstairs, I thought.

Overall: OK. Could be better, but nothing major against it  (108184214)

The room was tidy and appeared to be clean. The ensuite was basic but again appeared to be clean. The staff were friendly and helpful

We were able to see into the kitchen on our way up to our room and there were have finished plates of food on the surfaces. These were still there when we came down later. We were also told that if we wanted to go into the bar we could go through the kitchen which must be a health and safety hazard even though it was meant in a helpful way. Breakfast was eaten in the room but there was only 1 chair for 2 of us.

Overall: The staff that we came into contact with were friendly and helpful and the room was tidy with all of the basic necessities and appeared to be clean but I was not happy with what we could see with the kitchen.  (108905300)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
