Great location close to office. Very friendly staff. Fantastic food. Comfortable rooms.

Didn't have any bad points.

Overall: Very pleasant stay.  (108945423)

Friendly staff, good location for Waddesdon Manor and Blenheim which were where we went in the day. Food and wine good.

Room not ready on second day, had to vacate room for maid service, this was after three P.M. Room was what we booked but didn't realise it was directly over the bar. Would probably not have booked it had we known this. Also had to enter the bathroom via the landing. Again would probably not have booked room had we realised this.

Overall: Generally good and satisfied with our stay. We have stopped at four and five star hotels all over the world. Obviously we did not compare Dinton Hermit with these but we are aware of what to expect from hotels. The Dinton Hermit was not cheap.  (108259146)

good breakfast.

lighting in room really poor;i had to sit directly under the standard lamp to try to read the paper. dead insects in room...more than one species 2 cases of unsafety in room...above mentioned standard lamp had cracked singed shade where the bulb was burning it, and the flex of the kettle was so short that we had to put the kettle on the floor whilst boiling it. my daughter had been very excited to be staying in a 4-poster bed but the curtains around it were false and we were disappointed.

Overall: a really disappointing,unsatisfactory stay.  (108279133)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
