Ease of booking

Couldn't gain access to establishment

Overall: Can't comment on this as we were unable to gain entry to the establishment. In fact we ended up having to get alternative accomodation  (108833699)

3.0 / 5 3.0 / 5 Gavin [London, GB] on 23/09/2009 (Mature couple)

The bed was great, it was comfortable and very clean and we liked the pillows. We also liked the tea and coffee making facilities and provisions.

We moved the rubbish tin beside the toilet and found someone's make-up stick behind it plus all hair and other debris collected behind the toilet and in the corner - not a good look. The shower curtain needed bleaching as it was dark near the bottom where residue scum etc had collected. We were not 100% sure that the curtain is changed every time the room is let. The arm chair in the corner of the bedroom had a large stain on the arm rest - not very appealing. The light on the tea/coffee table didn't work. The television reception was poor - only 4 channels - the rest you couldn't see as the reception was too poor. We took a long time to find Sleep Station as there were no signs indicating it was the Sleep Station. In the end a taxi driver (the first one we asked didn't know) told us which building it was in. The reception person advised us that the signs were in being mended. There should have been some effort made to put some temporary signs with the words Sleep Station on them. We didn't know that the room wouldn't be serviced on Sunday. We were only given towels for one night - not good enough - we should have been advised and given extra towels. We had to source our own towels downstairs when we couldn't find anyone to help us. No-one answered the phone nor was there any recorded message advising where we could get help while phone was not manned.

Overall: Okay but not rave review  (108905985)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
