An excellent value-for-money hotel. Comfortable, spotlessly clean, and with a friendly ambience. The bed was one of the best we've experienced in any hotel, including several 5 star luxuries around the world, the food was extremely good and very reasonably priced.

A lack of dedicated parking was a bit of a nuisance on a dark rainy night. Driving around unfamiliar streets in the dark to find a parking space, then having to walk with the bags in the rain, even though only a few hundred yards (or metres) to the hotel, was not very pleasant.

Overall: A very enjoyable stay. We would not hesitate to return to Dukes at Queens hotel.  (108184600)

Spacious room, attractive decor, large and well-equipped bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle, large flatscreen TV with good selection of satellite channels. Hotel staff (not restaurant staff) very helpful and polite.

'Kingsize' bed was actually two singles pushed together, no plug sockets anywhere near bed to charge phone overnight, nowhere to put the soap in the bathroom! Poor service in the restaurant (greasy breakfast, tough pizza, very slow service in the evening).

Overall: Generally good, and very convenient for Queens University (1 min walk), but lacking in the details. Would probably stay again, but a bit pricey.  (107453300)

Can't say enough good things about the staff. The receptionist a lovely young girl was unbelievably helpful and upbeat. I ended up chatting on receprtion for 10 minutes before going up to my room. When i ate in the Brasserie again the service was top class. The starter was divine(I had the chargsrilled veg with parma ham & pamrsan) When my main came out I had the Seafood & noodles it was very strong with Corainder and when i spoke to the Staff they instantly took it back and brought me out a fresh bowl which was again beautiful. My eggs Benedict for breakfast was only surpassed by the sheer size and taste of the cheese scone! The setting was very relaxed and informal. I will definitely stay again, if only for the service. In bedroom: Huge Flat screen TV with moveable wall mount so I could work in annexe and have TV on. The bathroom and shower were very tastefully designed. Also had a room safe which was useful. Really close to lots of bars and restaurants if i didn't eat in Brasserie.

Still a few teething problems due to being such a new renovation. No broadband in my room, a loose plug fitting but very little, a bit of road noise in early morning.(I'm just being picky)

Overall: Definitely worth while staying once all the snagging list has been completed. Food excellent, service impeccable.  (107359484)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
