Everything as it should be.

The hotel is impressively beautiful in a beautiful setting. The staff was outstanding. They were especially impressive in the way they confidentally and quickly handled a fire emergency in evacuating the hotel. It turned out to be a false alarm, but they were firm in their insistence that we all must leave the building and wait for the fire service to sound the all clear. A very enjoyable visit

The Esate House is not a hotel It is a Bed and Breakfast establishment which provides evening meals on request. We did not have any evening meals during our stay. The breakfast provided all one could wish for. The owners were friendly. The room was large. Everything was clean. The garden was large and a pleasure to walk around and sit in, weather permitting!
The cooked elements of breakfast were not hot, being served probably onto cold plates. The basin was in the bedroom with the shower/bath/toilet off an inner hallway. The shower was modern electric but was severely lacking in water pressure. The duvet was too small for the bed.
Overall: A pleasant enough stay in a lovely old house which needs some refurbishment and upgrading when finances permit. The young couple work very hard as they run a tea room in the neighbouring village, where evrything is home made. The village of Ford is extremely quiet and peaceful. Some directions to help find the Estate House would be helpful, as it is tucked away off the road and not easily visible. There are not many places close by where one can eat in the evening.
