The most idyllic location imaginable, very close to St Paul De Vence and easily found from Nice Aiport and Cagnes Sur Mer
Very hard to think of any really - but I suppose you need a car if you are to enjoy the local area. The hotel is quite remote and there is no food available in the evening. Could do with a fridge in the room.
Overall: This is the most fabulous, beautiful, charming hotel and ideal for a break away from it all and to take in the amazing scenery and rich landscape of the area as well as being a brilliant base for the medieval town of St Paul and the nearby port of Antibbes. Family run, the Messugues (pronounced mess-oog - after a local flower) is totally charming. Full of character, local art and totaly in keeping with the surroundings. Loads of special touches - including bedroom doors that were recalimed from the old Nice Jail! Comfortable beds and views over a vinyard. Lovely pool and comfortable loungers and the best lunch of the holiday at a really good price at the petit resto in a gorgeous building by the pool. We stayed last week in July and quite a few bugs and therefore a few bites. Hotel provide bug device to plug in the bedroom but we didnt see it till check out day! Take bug repellant and savlon with you and you should be fine. Like all hotels and restaurants in that part of the Riviera - water is expensive - we bought from the nearby supermarker in Cagnes sur Mer. There is no fridge in the room and bottled water was about 5 euros a time - so maybe take a cooler and get ice from the supermarket. We took our two teenage children and they loved it despite it being quiet. If you have yet to discover the Med's best kept secret that is St Paul de Vence - don't hesitate if you love art, quaint streets, shops and restaurants. The views are amazing - but of course - its not cheap. Get saving - book - and enjoy! We'll be back next year! Abientot (107777054)

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.
Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.
All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.
48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
