Great location. nice views out the back of the hotel on to a small river and cricket pitch. Large room.
Reception and other hotel staff very unfriendly. The lady on the front guest smiled once - when we were paying the bill and leaving. The bar staff were also a bit stand off-ish except for one waiter. Toilet in the bathroom very difficult to flush. Other room doors banged very loudly making the whole room shake and waking us up very early. Ducks on the river also quacked very early too which was nice in a way and solved easily by closing the window the next night. Expensive for what it is - would not stay again unless the price was a lot lower.

Staff were polite and very efficient. Food was excellent and good value - available from lunchtime until 10pm. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Lovely rural location and very peaceful. Room and bathroom spotless and comfortable.
Minor criticism is lack of overhead cover from hotel to bar and restaurant so glad it wasn't raining.

On returning to my room after dinner only the bathroom light and entrance light were working. All the rest of the lights and sockets had tripped out. There was no one on reception to report the fault to. When checking out the next morning, I mentioned the electric had tripped to the receptionist; she abruptly replied that it "shouldn't have". Her tone was rude and she offered no apology, she didn't even say thanks for reporting the fault or indicate she would advise the hotel's maintenance.
Overall: Totally spoilt by the rudeness of the receptionist. (107778828)
Beautiful place! Very quiet - loved the creek and view of the farm country. The concierge was extremely helpful in directing us on our tour of the Cotswolds - even let me use the phone to make a change in a future hotel booking. Breakfast and dinner were superb!
The only negative was the bed. The mattresses appeared to be many years old and you could feel the springs so my husband and I doubled a blanket on each bed in order to be able to sleep. The next morning we spoke with the concierge and she had housekeeping make our beds that day with the blankets covering the mattress, which did help.
Overall: This was one our favorite places to stay. It is a beautiful setting and very convenient for touring the lower Cotswalds. (107748916)
Pleasant country inn atmosphere. Rooms quiet, away from the bar. Attractive furnishings of good quality. Our room overlooked the river which was delightful.
Only bad point - our toilet was very, very difficult to flush. We learnt a 'knack' but it took practice and involved pressing the push button many times and with special rhythm! It really needs correcting!
