Hôtel de Verdun, Nice

The staff at Hotel Verdun were extremely helpful. The breakfasts were excellent.

Our room had no shower curtain, the light in the bathroom was hanging by a wire. The carpeting on the floor was not clean looking.

Overall: Although staff were wonderful, I would stay again only if the bad points I mentioned above were dealt with  (107534839)

Location

Dirty, smoky, old furniture.

The room was bright and comfortable with adequate storage for clothing and luggage.

The reception was on the first floor rather than the street level so luggage had to be hauled up a flight of stairs to check in.

Overall: The hotel was located within easy walking distance to stores, restaurants tourist sights and bus transportation. The staff were very welcoming and helpful during our visit. While the hotel was located on a street with heavy traffic, the windows effectively blocked out the street noise.  (97614988)

There was nothing to like. The floor in the room was very spotted dirty, the sheet was used as a pillow case, it just was more like a no star hotel. The staff was nice.

The place needs an overhaul.

Overall: The elevator starts after the second floor. The staff was helpful with the bags, but some people may not ask for help. We couldn't carry our bags by ourselves. The beds seemed very old and the floor was grungy.  (97258260)

As always, this hotel was clean and comfortable. And its location in Nice is both quiet and extremely central.

Overall: This was my second stay at the hotel and I was treated as a special return guest. All the staff were kind as well as courteous, and my room was lovely, as well as spotlessly clean. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to fellow travellers and have already done so to my friends!  (97131071)
