Lovely historic hotel with gorgeous views of Mont Blanc. Beautiful terrace, fairly quiet location. Room 16 seemed to be part of an annex, and had a high chalet-style wood-covered ceiling and loft with twin beds in addition to a large bed for 2 below. There was a balcony and a wonderful view from the room. The staff was polite.

The hotel charged for use of the internet (5 Euros/day) and it was available only in the lobby. It even cost 3/day to use the safe in our room. The simple breakfast cost 12 Euros, with extra charges for eggs (8 Euros) etc. The hotel is on a high hill, not a very easy walk to Chamonix. The building is charming, but our room had an `80`s look about it, not in keeping with the earlier style, and the staff played a pop radio station quietly (which included rap)in the lobby and all shared areas. For me, this detracted from the charm. The shower alternated from too hot to too cold in the mornings. The bathroom showed some wear, and burned-out light bulbs in our room went unnoticed by the staff. We had to walk from our car parking area down to the street and around, due to a rule about no walking on the lawn. If the lovely terrace included a path from the parking area, it would be much better. The hotel`s restaurant and café is closed during the summer.

Overall: With a few changes, this could be a charming 3 star hotel, but as it is, I would give it two stars. There may be better values in the area.  (107798132)

Fantastic views of Mont Blanc. Style of building typical of the area and very nice with a lovely garden (no dogs allowed) . Near to a lift, 50mtrs. It's great that this type of good quality hotel allows pet dogs to stay.

Car park location is not obvious. Had the room above reception and the bathroom has restricted height due to roof shape. Walk to/from town is very steep.

Overall: Friendly receptionist who rang us quickly to say we'd left a bag.  (107593189)
